Retro Can Potlights For Your Lighting Needs
Sometimes referred to as “cans” or “spotlights”, this style of potlight can be on of the most versatile types of lights. Wether you’re using it for accent lighting, mood lighting, general down lighting or wall lighting they provide excellent ambient light in both residential and commercial settings. These style of lights can be used for adding atmosphere to a room or utility lighting for hard to light areas such as hallways or common areas.
One of the benefits of this style of potlight is that they come with a gimbal style trim, or in other words a trim that can be angled up to 30 degrees if you want to bring attention to artwork or other focal points in your home.
This is the most similar to traditional style downlighting and comes in a variety of colour temperatures to match warm yellow or cool blue lighting. When using LED bulbs you also have many options as to what type of bulb you can install with a variety of sizes, colours, beam angles, light diffusion and more. The only challenge that comes with using Retro Can potlights is that the building structure must have enough room to accommodate the housing. Sometimes this can be an issue if joists, beams or duct work is behind the ceiling.
Slimline Potlights
The next evolution in lighting is here with Super Slimline Potlight Panels. These potlights offer a lot of versatility in terms of how easy they are to install. Because of their slim design they can fit under many obstructions typically found in ceilings. They do no offer the angled feature however the do provide adequate lighting and ease of installation as they can fit under joists or ductwork that is often located behind the ceiling.
